We are a small cattery located in Northern Virginia.  (We were in New Jersey)

We raise our cats indoors in a climate controlled environment. All kittens are raised underfoot and are litter box trained. Some of the adults are also taken for walks on leashes so that they can get some excercise and fresh air. The "queen's room" consists of easy clean up, waterproofed surfaces. There are also large windows, a separate heating and cooling system, and a vent to keep fresh air circulating.

Like all breeders, we like certain traits in our cats above others and try to breed them to meet this standard. Although, everyone would love everything in one cat, obtaining such a cat is extremely hard. Any breeder will tell you this. Having said that, here is a list of what Silvercore Bengals likes to see in Bengals:

1) The most important thing is personality. Before agreeing to buy a future stud or queen, effort is made to make sure the kitten's personality is of a sweet disposition. It is proven that personality is inherited by the parents. We hope you love our cats' personalities, because it doesn't matter how pretty the cat is if you can not live with it ...right?

2) Color and contrast: Preference is made for highly rosetted cats with a "cool" to a moderately "hot" color. We try to obtain as much contrast and definition as possible, while keeping and/or developing a golden background in our "browns" and an "Arctic white" background in our silvers.

3) Type: Type is listed third, but it is right up there with color and contrast. In "type" however, we look for a nice profile first, the small ears and short tail next.

We occasionally produce Marbled bengals, but we specialize in the spotted silver and brown variety of Bengals.
